Prior to the formation of PS Central, both Demetrius and Charles worked on numerous projects related to the port and shipping industries. Some of the highlights are listed as follows:
- For solution to capital, Demetrius advised on initial public offerings in Hong Kong and Charles helped, through the investment banking vetting process, port and shipping companies in Asia and the US to market their equity public offerings, although during the 2004-07 period Charles also spent some time arguing against some of the investment bank ideas when this was his conclusion.
- For bid, Demetrius advised on port projects in Australia, South America, Middle-east and South Asia.
- For purchase & divestments, Demetrius advised on port & related projects in Americas, South-Asia, South-east Asia, North Asia and Europe.
- For project development and capital expenditures, Demetrius advised on port & related projects in Southeast Asia, Americas, Europe and China.
- For restructuring, Demetrius also advised on the then biggest debt restructuring related to provincial and municipal governments in China.
- The value of these projects ranged from tens of millions to billions of US dollars.
- For research, Charles focused on regular trade reports, company research as well as in-depth perspective pieces. Some of the companies covered were, for example, China Merchants, COSCO Pacific, Evergreen, Hanjin, ICTSI, NOL, OOIL, PSA, Teekay, Wan Hai, Yang Ming and many other port and shipping companies.
